Felisept - FAQ
Felisept Calming
The active ingredient contained in Felisept Home Comfort and Felisept Family Comfort is obtained from catnip (Nepeta cataria), a plant from the labiates family, which also includes various types of mint. The plant gets its name from its attractive and calming effect on cats, triggered by the substance nepetalactone. Nepetalactone calms the animals even in socially and territorially triggered stress situations. In clinical studies, it was found that the special concentration of the ingredients in Felisept Home Comfort or Felisept Family Comfort led to calming and a decrease in signs of stress in cats after only a few days. The studies showed that the calming effect of nepetalactone on cats increased the longer the product was used.
Urinating in the home is often a symptom of stress. Family offspring, a new additional animal or even a completely new environment can be the reason. The Home Comfort and Family Comfort products from Felisept help the cat to adjust to the new situation and thus reduce the feeling of stress.
Here you have to distinguish between the different products and the type of application. The Calming Collar is worn permanently and therefore also releases the active ingredient continuously. Both the Home Comfort and Family Comfort vaporisers release the calming active ingredient from natural catnip continuously. All these products are well suited when the stress for the cat comes from a new spatial situation or the family composition of humans and/or animals has changed.
The Calming Spray can alternatively be used selectively, at home as well as on the go, to relax frightening situations.
In general, it can be said that the effect is more effective the longer the product is used. An effective period is about 30 days. If stress symptoms continue to occur after this period, it is recommended to continue using the product.
Both the Felisept Calming Collar and the Felisept Home Comfort or Family Comfort vaporiser have an effective period of up to 30 days. The Felisept Calming Spray (30ml or 100ml) should be applied to the affected areas daily if possible.
Natural catnip has a positive effect on all adult cats.
The decisive factor here is the reason why you want to resort to a calming product.
Calming Spray : With the Felisept Home Comfort Calming Spray you can help your cat to alleviate the stress that leads to behavioural problems. Likewise, the Calming Spray can help relieve the cat's stress, which can manifest itself, for example, in persistent scratching and biting, unwanted urine marking, but also in anxiety, loss of appetite and aggressiveness.
Calming Collar : In domestic cats, stress often results from territorial conflicts or living with other residents of the household - for example, taking in another animal or having another person move in.
A change in familiar surroundings and any situation perceived as a constraint or fear can also trigger stress (e.g. transport to the vet, travelling, fireworks, thunderstorms, etc.). The Felisept Home Comfort Calming Collar for cats is a user-friendly and comfortable solution to calm your cat. Placed around the cat's neck, the collar continuously releases an extract of catnip (Nepeta cataria) scent.
Home Comfort / Family Comfort Vaporiser: The Felisept Vaporiser can be used in a household with one cat (Home Comfort) and in a multi-cat household (Family Comfort). By vaporising, the active ingredient from the natural catnip is distributed in the room and thus replaces the wearing of the calming collar.
Yes, the products can be combined very well. If, for example, the Home Comfort or Family Comfort vaporiser or the Calming Collar is used at home, the places that are marked again and again (e.g. sleeping areas, baskets, scratching post) are suitable for targeted spraying with the Home Comfort Calming Spray. The use of the Felisept Home Comfort calming spray is also ideal and particularly easy when travelling, during transport to the vet or in the transport box.

The Felisept Calming Collar can be snapped into place in stages. It can only be opened by cutting it or pulling strongly on the predetermined breaking point. If the cat gets caught, a safety catch ensures that the collar automatically breaks at the predetermined breaking point.
To ensure vaporisation of the ingredients, the surface of the vaporiser reaches high temperatures. Do not touch during operation and immediately afterwards.
Felisept care
Felisept Eye Care Pads can be used as needed. In case of fur discolouration, regular use over a longer period of time is recommended.
Yes, with regular use, the discolouration around the eyes, which mainly occurs in cats with light-coloured fur, will become lighter again after some time and new discolourations can be prevented by the reduced tearing of the eyes.
Wipe the area below the eye lightly, always moving the eye care pad away from the lower eyelid across your cat's face. Avoid direct contact with the eyes. Groom the eye by grooming from the outer to the inner corner of the eye, i.e. towards the corner of the nose of the eye.
Unopened, Felisept eye care pads have a shelf life of several years. Once opened, they should be used within three months.
For dogs, we recommend using the matching pads from Canosept.

With the practical Felisept Ear Care Finger Pads finger pads, regular cleaning of the external auditory canal is particularly uncomplicated. Due to the special shape of the finger pads, you intuitively follow your cat's ear canal when using them, so that the risk of injury is very low. Use a clean finger pad for each ear.
Attention: Never use a cotton bud or ear tweezers when cleaning the ears. This is an unpleasant and painful procedure for your cat. Frequent consequences are injuries to the sensitive skin of the auditory canal, caused by defensive movements of the animal. The success of this method is also doubtful, because it often only pushes the earwax together in the lower area of the auditory canal, where it then remains as a solid plug.
Yes, as the Ear Care Finger Pads are not inserted deep into the ear, they can be used on any cat.
