Canosept - FAQ
We recommend cleaning your dog's ears with the Canosept Ear Care Finger Pads three times a day for 1 to 2 days at the beginning. Afterwards, you can use the ear care finger pads once a day until the ear canal is clean. To keep the ears clean permanently, twice weekly application is recommended.
As a supplement to the Canosept Ear Care Finger Pads , use Canosept Ear Cleaner as a solution. Apply the ear cleaner weekly for regular preventive treatment in dogs prone to otitis externa (earworm). Dogs with a lower risk of otitis should be treated with Canosept Ear Cleaner every 14 days as a preventive measure.
With the practical Canosept Ear Care Finger Pads , regular cleaning of your dog's external auditory canal is particularly uncomplicated. Due to the special shape of the finger pads, you intuitively follow the dog's ear canal when using them, so that the risk of injury is very low. Use a clean finger pad for each ear.
When cleaning with Canosept Ear Cleaner, make sure that the solution is introduced into the ear at hand temperature and that you take the time to massage the solution into the ear for about 1 minute. The dog will shake out excess ear cleaner with dissolved earwax and dirt itself. For this reason, it is best to use the ear cleaner outdoors.
Caution: Never use a cotton swab or ear tweezers when cleaning the ears. This is an unpleasant and painful procedure for your dog. Frequent consequences are injuries to the sensitive skin of the auditory canal, caused by defensive movements of the animal. The success of this method is also doubtful, because it often only pushes the earwax together in the lower area of the auditory canal, where it then remains as a solid plug.
Otitis externa is an inflammation of the external auditory canal, also popularly called "ear squeeze" or "ear worm". The main cause is the particular predisposition to eczema of certain breeds of dog, as well as long and dense hair on the ear or a heavy coat (e.g. spaniel) that closes the ear canal. Otitis externa is also characterised by increased production of earwax, hardened earwax, ear mites or accumulations of dirt that have entered the ear.
The first signs in the animal are ear shaking and scratching of the ear, a reddening of the skin of the external auditory canal (inner ear lining), associated with increased warmth of the auricle. In addition to the redness, there may also be swelling with itching, and in some cases there is also increased production of brown-black earwax, which gives off a typical foul odour. If otitis is not treated, a purulent, very painful ear infection develops, which considerably impairs the general condition and, as it progresses, can spread to the inner ear and lead to permanent damage. To keep an animal healthy, preventive treatment is an important task of the dog owner. For regular prevention in dogs prone to otitis, weekly cleaning with Canosept Ear Cleaner is recommended.

Healthy dog paws are rosy-soft and free of cracks. However, your dog's paws are exposed to different surfaces on a daily basis; depending on the season, there is also heat, cold or road salt. To keep the paws supple and soft at all times, it is recommended that Canosept paw care is firmly integrated into the grooming routine.
Canosept Paw Care is formulated so that it is absorbed after a short massage and hardly any residue remains on the paw. Licking the paws is therefore not a concern.
