Quiko Hobby Faming - Joy in your own chicken coop
Enjoying the fresh air, the animals around you, and your own regular harvest – that’s hobby farming. All this and so much more! Hobby farming offers a sense of fun and the joy of keeping animals and giving them a home. A small-scale hobby farm is the right choice if you’re looking for a meaningful hobby, if you want to create something sustainable and in harmony with nature. In fast-paced times and alongside a stressful everyday life, hobby farming offers a way to slow down, because here nature and the animals are the only ones setting the pace. The reward: fresh eggs from happy hens. Eggs from your own farm, fresh, tasty, and most importantly, you know exactly how the chicken lives and what it eats. No unnecessary transport routes and the best living conditions that you have created yourself.
Chickens are extremely undemanding animals and don't need much. However, there are a few things you should keep in mind and adhere to. Chickens are very social animals and feel happiest in company. To provide a family of four with eggs, you should keep around four to six chickens in a coop. Of course, your chickens need space for a fulfilling chicken life. They love to peck at seeds, search for insects, and bathe in dust to naturally rid themselves of annoying parasites. On the other hand, they also need places to retreat and hide. A chicken coop with bushes and shrubs is therefore perfect. To determine the size of the coop, allow for around 20 square meters per chicken. The coop should also have a coop with laying nests and perches as a permanent retreat.

Supports the good development of your chickens
If you know how your chicken behaves, how it walks, and how it pecks, you'll quickly notice when something changes. Chickens are masters of concealment and don't want to show any weakness—it's in their nature and ultimately protects them from predators.
If you know your chickens well, you will notice any changes in their behavior and it is possible to counteract emerging diseases through the targeted use of medicinal herbs.
Prevention is at least as important as close contact with your chickens. Quiko Hobby Farming products are developed in close collaboration with veterinarians and experts to support the healthy development of your chickens. Quiko Vital Herb Mix contains a colorful blend of nettle, dandelion, and thyme, offering variety in their diet. The mix is rich in vitamins and spreads a pleasant aroma throughout your chicken coop. Dandelion also provides important minerals such as iron, potassium, and zinc.

Only the best for your chickens
After very active early morning hours, the birds seek out a quiet spot, hide under bushes or in a corner that's out of sight, and devote themselves extensively to preening their feathers. They use a secretion from the preen gland located on the upper side of the base of their tail to this. This oily secretion is thoroughly distributed over the feathers, protecting them from external influences. This is usually followed by a sand and dust bath. Since your chickens take care of their feather preening entirely on their own, all you have to do is create the best conditions for them: sufficient places to retreat, open space for dust bathing, and, above all, time and peace.
To ensure that the animals have the opportunity to regularly sharpen their beaks, it is helpful to have a mineral grit stone available in the enclosure.
